Subway tiles

30 Aug

Subway tiles have really come along.  I always think of subway tiles as your standard white rectangular tile and I love the look — particularly when matched with dark gray grout.  But as I’ve started paying a bit more attention to tiles these days, I’ve found that there are a lot of new and different subway tiles available.

These small black subway tiles surrounding the fireplace look really elegant and the blue glass subway tiles below are to die for.

We are hoping to tile back splash in kitchen but haven’t decided what to do. I have thought about stainless steel tiles and subway tiles. Have you seen stainless steel tiles? any thoughts would be appreciated.

I love the stainless steel tiles and I’ve seen some interesting shapes and even some smaller rectangular tiles in the same running board pattern. I don’t know how easy they are to clean if they’re in an area that gets a lot of grease splatter or water but it’s a really nice look. Not the cheapest option but I also really like the glass mosaic tiles — of course, I prefer the Italian mosaics that have more rustic edges but I used black, gray and white glass mosaic in the kitchen in my office building and they look great — we have cream gloss cabinets, black granite countertop and apple green walls. It sounds like an odd combination but I think it works.
