Another 1-hour project

I’m not sure this will fit but if it will, I’m going to do this in the entry way of Tilly’s Cottage.  I’m thinking a couple of IKEA cubes would do the trick as a place to hold shoes and I could add a cushion to the top as a makeshift bench. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

Two more one-hour projects

A personal favorite of mine — kitchen cabinets looking tired and out-of-date? take off the doors, throw a splash of color inside and bingo – it’s like a whole new kitchen.

I also like this second idea — just having a planter of grass as a centerpiece really freshens up the room — and it works nicely with the oilcloth tablecloth.  And isn’t grass in the winter such a luxury?

Welcome 2011

These are all projects that can be done in an hour so it’s perfect for those of us who are time short.  In this particular example, they’ve used a shower curtain as a quick slipcover solution.  I would have never thought of using a shower curtain myself and yet it’s a great idea – generally inexpensive and a good amount of fabric to work with!
