R.I.P. Shaun the Bichon

1 Oct

I’ve been meaning to do this post for a while now — it’s been two months since my four-legged friend, Shaun, passed away.  Tilly and I lived with Shaun and his people for a year so he was near and dear to my heart (and he totally had the hots for Tilly).

He passed on while I was away this summer so I didn’t get to say a proper goodbye so I thought I’d do so here with a few photos of Shaun from our trip to “Norn Iron” back in July. As you can see, he was never far from Miss Tilly.

Norn Iron

My housemates, who have so kindly put up with me living in their gorgeous home for the last year, and I decided we would have a last hurrah trip before I move out and to celebrate Petra’s teaching certification.  We went to one of my favorite spots on the island, the Giant’s Causeway and Northern Ireland’s Antrim Coast.  Neither Petra nor Clodagh had been there before and so I insisted they must see it.  Clodagh’s daughter #3, Sandra, and her husband, Keith, and their lovely little dogs joined us — so four dogs and five humans up in the North.  Clodagh’s senior pup, Shaun, is in love with Tilly.  I love the pic of him resting his head on her back claiming her as his own while all the other dogs were around.

I love the Northern Ireland accent or “Norn Iron” as it’s known.  But, as usual, I digress.  If you ever have the chance to go up North, make sure you check out the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge (which the expression on Petra’s face tells all), the Giant’s Causeway, Dunluce Castle and Bregagh Road (the road with the TREES!) in Ballymoney.  It’s all pretty darn stunning.
